After a lot of effort, we closed a small project with Jaunpur Nagar Nigam through BIPS SYSTEMS LIMITED. We got a small advance (can you believe it?) from the client (of course against a bank guarantee which effectively reduced the net amount we got in our kitty), so we did the homework, calculated the AOI, sent the shape file with the performa invoice to NRSC along with the draft and waited.
Now ‘waiting’ is an art gentlemen that you have to get used to in this business and specially in this geographic part of the world. We are good, we do things well but and that is a huge but, we take our time. And that is the catch. By the time things get done, they have lost the value addition that they could have provided.
OK, so we wait. and wait. And after what seems like a long time, we call up. We ask and we are told that the draft has not been received. Bingo! The covering letter, if you may please has been received but the draft is not there. This is followed by a flurry of activity, faxing of xerox copies, calling up the courier guy, sending mails back and forth and that sums up today’s output for me. From Global Coordinates, we are becoming Global Coordinators.. God forbid.
NRSC could have informed us earlier, could have called(My God, that would be a miracle..).I mean here we are running out of time, running out of money(we are always short of money so that is nothing new. And now we have to save our face in front of the client. Our asses are always on fire, now the face is in danger.
