Need to transfer 70 $ ( Rs.3100=00 approx) to a UK account for web hosting, for which we need signatures of the CA and some other logistic shit which will cost us Rs. 2500=00 extra and a lot of paper work. It is exasperating to say the least. Small jobs take big time. So there is no time to do the big jobs at all. Need the time management gurus to give some fundas here.
One of our software guys is at the client site today ( where else but Jaunpur Nagar Nigam, there is no other work at the moment). He was supposed to understand the client requirements. The first official he met was unaware of any such project being proposed or executed. The next official wants us to copy the Google Earth ( the stars and the moon for peanuts). How we will achieve that in such a small budget remains to be seen. But I can already see that we are in a no win situation. Of course another team member had a brilliant idea. His suggestion is to install some pirated software for them and let them play around with it till they know what they want clearly and also what it would cost them.
I must say, I agree.
A lot remains to be figured out in terms of work, money, team building, business plan but it is like an 80-20 ratio. The small, mundane jobs take up 80% of the time. And I have a great accountant ( a man) who refuses to agree with me in the first instance. I have to repeat the instructions five-six times over a period of two-three days , raise my voice a little after which he will grudgingly follow the instructions ,displaying his displeasure over the exercise of my authority. Sometimes I wonder whether I should use english as the medium of communication, just so he gives some deference to my position, or use hindi in its street form to compete with the male ego in him. Have not got that figured out as yet.
Actually a lot has not been figured out and maybe it is getting late. I am on the wrong side of 40 and I should have got my life all stacked up in neat little packets by now, job, house, insurance policies, pension plan, retirement plan, daughter’s education and how can we forget her marriage plan (although my daughter refuses to hear of the word marriage, but still what will society say? Kuch to socho, kuch to karo). But I have nothing. I am still trying to set up this business, living on rent, with no bank balance and a lot of loans.
So need another revolutionary equation like Einsteins’ (which converts matter to energy) to convert mind to money. I mean I am always thinking so if there was a way to convert the mind waves into money, I would be stinking rich.
