To arrive and not strive

Posted by Aparna.Burjwal on 19/02/2010

striveFinally, Mr.Jagannath Nayak who has joined us recently has left for Indore for discussions on the Manganese project. Hopefully, we will close it. Fingers crossed. The prospective client is sending a vehicle to pick him up and has also booked a hotel for him. No wonder, the other team members are feeling envious as none of them have ever experienced such a warm welcome even from existing clients, but of course they were all government clients (who give a damn about the service provider). So everyone is quite keen to work on this project (mostly to be able to get this royal treatment!).

I sent a mail to our landlord stating that the rent would take some more time. I was very sure of a call back with some abuses and warnings thrown in but there was none. Sigh of relief, for today.

Today, I have been thinking about what I had read a long time ago. That we were human ‘beings’ and not human ‘doings’. That it was more important to ‘be’ than to ‘do’. That we did not really need to ‘strive’ to ‘arrive’. And of all times, it is falling in place for me today. When I have done all I can in the present circumstances and there is really nothing more I can do, I just need to have faith and ‘to be’. To continue to have faith in the vision for the company, in myself and in the universe, for providing me and my daughter with what we need.

And that is a very comforting thought today. That I do not have to do more than I can in any given moment.

That to arrive, I do not really have to strive.
