I shouted at Jagannath today. I think the anger was building up. And it was important for me to express it. To say what was unacceptable. He just used this company to get a starting point, till he got ‘better opportunities’. And then once he found something more ‘lucrative, he did not have the decency to give us a notice period of 15 days. He just gave us three days. The entire team was supposed to take the data, understand the project and take over the execution in flat three days. Ludicrous.
And suddenly, in the last three days, it has become clear to me that the growth of this company is not slow because of the lack of funds but because of people who join as team members, learn and grow, find better options and kick this company midway. That is what has been happening. For the last three years. Employees have walked away mid way in projects causing great damage. The projects get delayed, the work submitted does not meet the quality standards, and we lose, in terms of face and money. And then the cash flows get affected. And then everything gets affected negatively. And of course the company is to be blamed.
‘Fuck the talent’. I think we need some good old values here. Of commitment,honesty,stability,consistency.
And if they exist no more then we will need our employees to sign a bond of six months. Freedom is for those who deserve it and can respect it. Our mistake has been that we offer it to those who cannot handle it and misuse it for themselves and the company.
Again the ‘core’ issue is the ‘inside’. We need people with good ‘insides’. Not necessarily people with great skills,education and talent.
